Is TRL still on?
If so, holy moley, do they have a top video coming their way. I can see it now (cue dream sequence music), Carson Daly standing there looking like a massive tool with the camera tilting back and forth and he introduces the video for Wait It Out. The screams and woos fill the room. The video is playing only to be interrupted by, "HAYY THIS IS SARAH FROM CLEVELAND AND I WAANNNAA GIVE A SHOUT OUT TO MY BABY BOO BOBBY!! WOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!"
What's the deal with that? Anyway, we filmed a music video yesterday for Wait It Out. It was unbelievably cold but we got some great shots. Here's some pictures of the making of the video:

The video should be premiered pretty soon. Hollywood has to do editing and add explosions, you know, stuff like that.

Thanks to Shannon Fitzgerald for taking these...
The Afterparty Set / Green Chair Room
After the ragefest that was the Cubby Bear show we were invited to an afterparty at a super sweet pad in Wrigleyville. Tim still had his guitar, so at approximately 3:30 am an impromptu set went like this:
Tribute (Tenacious D)
In My Place (Coldplay)*
Hot In Herre (Nelly)
Ride Wit Me (Nelly)>
Belief (John Mayer)
*Choruses sung (poorly) by me and Shannon
It was a hot set.
Often people wonder what the Green Room of venues look like. A Green Room is generally the room where the musicians hang out before the show with nice couches and various amenities. Well the Cubby Bear doesn't have one. They do, however, have a basement. With green chairs.... Not really the same thing. Oh well. They gave us a giant tub of beer, so that made up for it. Here's some pix of the boys getting ready before the show in the "Green Chair Room":

Thanks again to everyone that came out. You guys rock.

Raining on Wrigley
It was a rainy Friday night in Chicago on October 24, and certainly many Chicagoans decided that maybe it was a good night to watch a movie or start reading one of the books on their classics list, like Great Expectations or something. Although we do encourage all our readers to culture themselves with fine literature, we applaud those who mustered the courage to brave the weather and see what the city had in store. More specifically, we thank those who for whatever reason made their way to Cubby Bear. There, Tim Stopulos & The Trio played a short, high energy set for their 2nd show as a band. It was the Chicago debut of Michael Tahlier, The Trio's new guitarist, and he didn't disappoint. Those in attendance will recall Michael's dazzling, soulful solo that brought the one cover of the night, Stevie Wonder's "As", to an incredible end. The finale was an unbelievable performance of Pride and Prejudice.
Thanks again to all for coming out, come back soon for pictures from Cubby Bear 10.24.08.
Setlist:
Normal, IL
Weak and Willing
Love it or Leave it
As (Stevie Wonder)
I'm Over It
Angie Rae
Too Close
Pride and Prejudice
Cubby Bear
The World Series starts tonight. Is it the "Red Line Series" that Cubs and Sox fans were hoping for? Unfortunately not. But since we're playing across the street from "The Shrine," I feel that this post is justified.
Seville and I are White Sox fans. Mike's a Red Sox fan (don't bring up the Rays series, trust me). And Tim...well...he doesn't care either way.
So on Friday we're going to embrace Wrigleyville in all it's glory. We're going to shake their foundations. We're gonna shake the rafters. Nobody'll be the same (I don't think anyone thought a Danny Bonaduce quote would ever be on this blog).
So don't miss it. Guaranteed to be a good time. Friday, the 24th of October, 9pm, Cubby Bear. AND there's an afterparty. Yup.

The Inagural Post
Hi everyone. Justin here. What a time to be alive. The band is sounding better than ever, we just had a killer show at the Redstone Room, and up next is the Cubby Bear show. Not to mention we're working on new songs that are out of this world.
We were doing some band merch inventory the other day and discovered that we had a few Redstone posters left. Here it is:

If you want one all you have to do is email me at info@justinhooks.com . We'll get one out to you. Promise. I bet we'd even sign it too (if you want).
See you October 24th.

Service Error
I feel like I must blog to clear up something that has been the point of much ado since it was posted a few days back. In "When you're in Dixon", I mentioned that the service in Davenport, IA left something to be desired. It appears that this comment has been misconstrued in a variety of ways, and I would be remiss if I didn't attempt to set things straight. Let me first say that in fact the service in question was a lunch experience gone bad at a restaurant which will remain nameless. Nothing more. In no way does it refer to the Redstone Room, which treated us, as always, incredibly well. We had a fantastic time at the Redstone Room and would highly recommend it to both listeners and performers alike. Also, the service does not refer to the hospitality shown us by our hosts, who were outstanding as well. Unfortunately, in my previous post, I left the nature of service ambiguous and I do apologize for any confusion that may have caused. It was off-the-cuff and trivial and should have gone without mention.
In closing, let me reiterate how great of an experience the whole band had in Davenport, thanks in great part to the Redstone Room and our hosts. Iowa knows how to treat its guests.
