The T Stop Trio - Making Dreams Come True

It's been far too long since I've spoken last on the blog. The time has come to break the silence. The summer is rapidly approaching, and the last time the summer was brought up, I promised to have a band ready. We'll I've been working on that, the progress of which doesn't lend itself well to deeply engaging blogs, and that's why you haven't heard much about it. However, I will give you an update, so we're all on the same page, not just the same webpage.

Currently, I have been playing with two other cats in Chicago, and we call ourselves the T Stop Trio. Now, we haven't played live, as we realize that the goal is to have five band members - so that name is very temporary, we hope. To fill you in, the T Stop Trio consists of, besides myself, the following two guys:

Justin Hooks, drummer. Justin is an exciting young drummer who's passion for music is exceeded only by his passion for food, beer, girls, and a very long list of other things. He will be laying the rock/funk beats down for us this summer, a la Steve Jordan, his American idol.

Seville Lilly, keyboards. Seville is an accomplished keyboard player and radio DJ who, I believe, is always thinking about music in some capacity. Given the fact that he does sleep on occasion, this proves quite impressive. He is also one the hardest working musicians I know, and his great discipline can translate only to great virtuosity on the stage.

I know what you're saying - don't you (Tim) play piano? Yeah I do. So there will be two keyboards on stage. But don't worry, it will make sense. I guess you'll just have to come to one of the shows so we can prove that.

We are actively auditioning and searching for the other two positions, and we have some promising prospects. However, auditions are wide open, so if your (or someone's you know) dream has always been to try out for this band, then we can make that dream come true. Making dreams come true, well, that's what we live for.

The Vault

If you'll please direct your attention to the right side of your computer, iphone, or other miscellaneous internet viewing device, you'll notice a brand new section has been added by professional web-designer and Dance Dance Revolution guru Dan Sweeney. Don't be fooled by its recency, cuz it's filled with old stuff. It's the Official timstop.com Blog Archive (not to be confused with Bob Loblaw's Law Blog). Yes, now, you can find anything ever written on this website. Ever! Can't remember when Tim sang Toto's "Africa" that one night? Check out February. Forget that hilarious line Tim wrote awhile back that you've been dying to tell your friends about? Good luck finding that. In any case, you'll be able to visit and revisit those unforgettable blogs like "Cribs" (January 2008) that will be sure to bring happiness to the whole family all year round. Thanks for hanging out at timstopulos.com, and come back soon.

DMRT Revisited

Hello dear friend. As you read this, the Dollar Menunaire Reunion Tour is being transmitted to the annals of history. Gone? Yes. Forgotten? Only maybe. Which is pretty solid, and I'll take it. The three shows, although each very different, had similar flavors. Substantial, but sweet. Energetic, but temperate. Jovial and carefree at times, grim and grave at others. Those in attendance ate (there was free food at Mulligan's 1 year anniversary party - had I known I would have told you - Thanks and Congrats, Pieter!), drank and made merry, but left feeling like they learned something important, even if they weren't quite sure what that was.

I have to extend my apologies to those who don't hold McDonald's to high esteem, and even to those whose loyalties lie with other fast food eateries. Unfortunately, that's just the way monster cookie crumbles. Please, if you need to express your dislike for the title of the tour, I open my website as a forum. Simply comment below.

Dollar Menunaire Reunion Tour Kickoff

Hello and welcome to Timstop.com! It's an exciting day for those of us here, because tomorrow is the kickoff of Tim's aptly titled "Dollar Menunaire Reunion Tour". Ok, it may be a tad misleading in that it's all solo, it's not exactly a tour (but kind of!) and there won't be any food served. But there's a McDonald's open somewhere. That's our motto. In any case, DMRT starts tomorrow (Thursday - see right hand side of website for all dates) at Uptown and finishes Saturday at Mulligan's (each show is approximately 8:30 PM - 1 AM). Tim will be playing a bunch of your old favorites, some of your new ones, and probably a bunch of songs you never really liked that much to begin with. But it will be a blast, like only a reunion tour named for cheap food can be. Hope to see you there!
